Verifying Institutional Alignment & Integrity
Bridging the communication gaps between humanitarian organisations and the communities they serve to build lasting trust.
THE CORE PHILOSOPHY
ALETHEIA TUTELA is an independent evaluation body within the Fidel Strub Forum. We provide objective, ground-level verification to help organisations align their public narratives with the lived experiences of the communities they support. As donor expectations evolve, we supply clear, qualitative insights that reinforce institutional integrity and strengthen public confidence.
The Name & Our History
The humanitarian sector needed consistent, practical ways to measure whether institutions truly centre the people they serve.
From that need the Survivor Alignment Index (SAI) was developed under the Confederatio Helvetica Fidelis Index (CHFI) framework. ALETHEIA TUTELA reflects this purpose:
Aletheia (ἀλήθεια) is the ancient Greek concept of truth; specifically the active unconcealment or bringing what is hidden into the light.
Tutela is the Latin term for guardianship, protection, and safekeeping.
Together, ALETHEIA TUTELA expresses our commitment to transparent truth and to ensuring communities remain central to their own stories.
THE DONOR TRUST SHIELD
A Standard for Narrative Integrity
The Survivor Alignment Index (SAI) is an independent, merit-based evaluation indexed on an objective 100-point checkpoint matrix. Developed from first-hand institutional experience and engineered under the CHFI framework, the SAI removes ambiguity from ethical compliance.
The framework evaluates exactly 100 standard checkpoints across three core pillars:
Narrative Sovereignty: Verifying if local communities genuinely own their stories or if they are framed through a paternalistic lens.
Visual Dignity: Assessing the ethics of photography, video materials, and visual consent protocols deployed in fundraising.
Ethical Consistency: Ensuring internal institutional governance matches the public narrative told to major donors.
Evaluation Thresholds & Credentials
ALETHEIA TUTELA does not operate on arbitrary tier systems. Reputational safety and ethical integrity cannot be measured in "Silver" or "Gold"—compliance is a reflection of hard, verifiable metrics. Our registry tracks two clear, merit-based performance thresholds:
Official Certification (Score 70 – 100) | Fully Certified Organisations achieving a score of 70 or higher are awarded the official Certificate of Alignment. The exact audited score is displayed transparently on the certificate and within our registry, establishing an unassailable benchmark for donor trust. It includes a formal Executive Board Briefing.
Compliance Attestation (Score 60 – 69) | Minimum Requirements Met
Organisations scoring between 60 and 69 receive a formal Attestation of Minimum Compliance. This validates that foundational ethical guardrails, operational safety standards, and baseline statutory compliance are securely met, providing verified protection while the institution actively works toward full narrative maturity.
Under 60 Points | Non-Certified (Restorative Track)
To preserve absolute institutional confidentiality, scores below 60 are never published or listed in the registry. These organizations immediately enter a private advisory track, utilizing the Donor Perspective Briefing (DPB) to systematically address and remedy structural risks before undergoing a re-audit.
